AD. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’ve got a soft spot for kitchens that feel soulful—quietly luxurious, beautifully practical, and just a little bit romantic. So when the stars finally aligned for my own Devol-inspired kitchen makeover (yes, it’s happening!), I knew exactly where to look for inspiration: classic Devol style, but with a modern twist. In this post I’m sharing the moodboard behind the makeover, the aesthetic I’m aiming for, and introducing a rather fabulous new addition that’s going to sit right at the heart of it all: our Rangemaster oven.

The Look: Devol-Inspired with a Raspberry Flavoured Twist
My kitchen is old! Like old old! I gave it a makeover around 8 years ago now but the paint is tired and it really needs a refresh. I’ve hankered after a Devol kitchen for so long but it’s really not in my budget so I thought how hard can it be to recreate the feeling. What I love most about Devol kitchens is their quiet confidence. The rich, heritage-inspired colour palettes, the traditional cabinetry, the brass and wood details, they all work together to create a space that feels timeless, but never boring.
For my kitchen, I’m borrowing that feeling of calm elegance and layering in my usual mix of old and new. Think aged brass taps, earthy tones and natural textures… with a few unexpected moments thrown in because, well, this is me after all!

Meet the Moodboard
Here’s a peek at the kitchen makeover moodboard I’ve been working on. It’s full of everything I’m drawn to right now: warm neutrals, deep earthy hues, aged finishes and a little bit of raspberry flavoured drama! There’s a definite “modern country” undercurrent, but with just enough edge to keep things feeling fresh.
You’ll spot elegant marble and wood textures, period-style handles, open shelves for pretty things that are also practical. No form over function in my household! And taking centre stage a Rangemaster – Elise Luxe 90cm dual fuel range cooker in Slate Grey with Antique Brass trim that I genuinely can’t wait to build the rest of the kitchen around.

Why Rangemaster?
When Rangemaster agreed to work with me on this project, I won’t lie I practically fell off my chair. I am their number one fan having owned my old Rangemaster Classic since 1997. They have that solid, heritage feel that works so well in a traditional style kitchen but also they last forever (well a good 20 years at least), the build quality is just that good! Oh and boy are they a joy to cook with too.

What’s Next?
Well the full reveal actually. It’s all done and dusted, all the hard work is behind me. The blood sweat and tears and hours upon hours of hard graft. And boy is the end result good, like way beyond my hopes and dreams. It’s a totally transformed the kitchen with a much more grown up vibe. Dark and seductive yet at the same time classical and elegant.

PS. The brass kickplates are staying!
This Devol-inspired kitchen makeover post is part of a collaboration with Rangemaster. All words, moodboard obsessions are my own.
