This post contains affiliate links. As you may or may not know I have a very cunning plan, we shall name it Chris!! It involves changing out one of the sofas in the sitting room to a sofa bed. This is vital to my plans for the coming year as 3 out of our 4 bedrooms need work. But we don’t have a spare room to decamp into. Nor can we have guests to stay as there’s no where to put them. This has sent me down a right old rabbit hole. It seems that most sofa beds don’t truly function as either!! Neither a true sofa nor a comfortable bed. And so whilst I haven’t tried sitting or sleeping on any of these I thought I’d share my 10 of the best contenders for the sofa beds that dreams are made of.
But before I do let me tell you what I’ve been looking for in a sofa bed because I do have one very special guest I would like to visit. And that’s my father, I now haven’t seen him since January 2020 and only did then because of a surprise visit my on my 50th!! The sofa bed has to be right for him even more so than the boys as he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in late 2020 and now has to sleep in a propped up position and therefore needs to be extra comfy. As a full time carer I haven’t been able to go and visit him and so I’m hoping I can transform the fireplace end of my sitting room into a multi functional space.
By day a comfy snuggle in front of the fire sofa. And by night a sumptuous bed giving the most restful of nights sleep. And so with this in mind firstly the sofa bed of my dreams has to look good. Nothing should enter your home if you do not believe it to be truly beautiful. Next up it has to perform well too. I’m talking about fabric quality, cushion stuffing, mattress support and comfort. And whilst buying online I can’t exactly tell the quality I instead looked for good guarantees and returns policies which is the nearest I can get to when it comes to peace of mind.
And so without further ado, here (and in no particular order) are my 10 of the best (top contenders for the job) sofa beds:

4. The Aissa
Again a more traditional style of sofa bed the Aissa from sofa.com via ufurnish is clean, minimal and super stylish. It’s also one of the few I’ve found that has a two seater option if you are tight on space. And there’s a plethora of fabrics to choose from along with a choice of feet too. 5. The Orson
Move over classic and minimal and enter the Orson from made.com via ufurnish. With a more traditional English feel and yet still stunning this would be perfect in a sumptuous drawing room bringing with it just the right amount of opulence and splendour. Go bold or go home!
